The old medieval district of Matera is surrounded by magnificent noble palaces, displaying the richness of important landowner families contrasting with the condition of the thousands living in the huge cave-dwellings.
Today you will learn how to prepare traditional recipes in one of these old residences. The activity starts with a visit to the market where you will be able to chose some fresh ingredients for your meal. Then transfer to the palace of the XIV century where the class will take places. Surrounded by antiquities, frescoes and precious books, you will cook your meal: homemade pasta, ragu’, lamb with potatoes, while listening to stories about kings and princes who were housed there in the past.
